:)Hi All, Im trying to get the APN settings for Talk Mobile for my San Fransisco??

Ive tried the settings on the Talk Mobile web site for android, just get "Connection Failed" when I turn on Data Connection!!

Ive saved the APN and re-booted the phone, all the usual tricks, No avail!!

Im on Talk Mobile PAYG (£5.11 for 100 mins, 100 Texts and 100Mb Internet)

Im not bothered about MMS, just Internet!!

Can someone with working Internet on Talk Mobile on their ROM`d San Fransisco get back to me with exactly wat their APN settings are, PLEASE!!

Hi sads, I'm on Talk mobile as well. I think you're on Pay monthly, rather than pay as you go, as it sounds like exactly the deal that I'm on.

So try entering the settings they give on their web page for pay monthly instead of pay as you go. That worked for me.

(For internet, not for MMS, but you say you're not interested in MMS. I *think* I've got my MMS working as well now, but after lots of mucking about. Basically I think the settings they give are incorrect for MMS.)

Good luck,

peejay

I'm having a problem with MMS (picture messages) on talkmobile pay monthly. My internet connection works fine.

What setting do I need to get the MMS to work please.

Cheers.

Hi,

Thanks for your help.

I have tried the settings on the site you linked to and about 100 others but still no joy, I've been on every site Google throws up.

This phone has now had more APN settings than I've had hot dinners and still no joy.

Someone on here must have got the San Francisco working on talkmobile.

Cheers.

How about you just go to their website and look for the settings, IF there are NO settings, you call them and demand(ask) those settings... they have to give you those, assuming you use something of them ...

Hi,

I've been to the Talkmobile website and got the settings and entered them, but still no joy :(

http://www.talkmobil...e-settings.html

I rang Talkmobile this afternoon and after going through all of the settings with me (which were correct) the guy advised me to call in at a Carphone Warehouse store, he told me that maybe they would be in a better position to help as they would have the phone in front of them, which I suppose is fair enough, I don't think he had heard of the San Francisco or the ZTE Blade

Cheers.

Edit:

I think I may have cracked it...I'll post back if I have....watch this space.

Hi,

ok I got the MMS working :D

I decided to start from fresh with the APNs so I wanted to delete the list of them I had.

The phone menu won’t let you delete them when on the APNs page as the delete option is greyed out, so I got a free App from the market called ApnManager to delete them which worked fine, no doubt there are other apps out there that will do the job but this was the first one I found.

ApnManager :

https://play.google....droid.apn&hl=en

After deleting all of the APNs in the list I powered down the phone then turned it on again, I checked that the list of APN's didn't come back, they didn't.

I then added a new APN following the settings on the Talkmobile site for Pay Monthly Customers, there are also settings for PAYG on the site.

http://www.talkmobil...gsandroid1.html

Note:

the San Francisco has a few extra settings in the APN settings list that aren't shown on the Talkmobile settings, these are shown in bold below.

Talkmobile Pay Monthly Customers

Name: Talkmobile Pay Monthly

APN: talkmobile.co.uk

Proxy: 212.183.137.012

Port: 8799

Username: wap

Password: wap

Server:

MMSC: http://mms.talkmobile.co.uk/servlets/mms

MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.012

MMS Port: 8799

MCC: 234

MNC: 15

Authentication type: None

APN type: *

Make sure to change the APN type to a * (star)

I hope this information helps others get their MMS working.

Cheers.

Fantastic! All the networks are a pain in the ass when it comes to their MMS settings they set it up on their phones and then never provide all the required details to use a sim free phone.

Yeah, setting up a sim free phone can be a bit of a challenge, getting the San Francisco working on the Talkmobile network has been the most awkward one I've experienced.

Hopefully the setting I have posted will save someone 2 days of frustration like I had

Cheers.
