Digitser replaced, 8-10 hours later, stopped working

Well, I replaced my digitiser and all went well, I was on Swedish Spring RLS4b at the time And then upgraded to RLS5 touchscreen still ok. I saw this big clump of dirt, so i decided to take it apart and get rid of it. Went A-OK. I then put it on charge about 8:30pm then took it off charge at 6:30am. Still OK.

30-45mins later tried to unlock it. Started doing a reserse action (going back) got it to unlock it just kept getting worse. Installed CM7 Nightly 41 Still the same issue.

Decided to take it apart (again) To see if dust was causing the problem, put the cable back in (properly) And stopped working completely, I thought it was the digitiser, so decided to put the old one back in to see if the new one was the problem.

Still didn't work (trust me I put the cable back in properly and clipped it down). Decided to do the Gen 2 upgrade (again) put the stock Gen 2 Recovery and ran the flasher, That went ok, installed RLS5 again thru Clockwork Mod still no touchscreen working what so ever.

Could it be thing that the cable actually goes into?

It's not the ROM because it was working with RLS4b and RLS5 (for a short while)

I'll try that in about 30 mins gunna have me tea :) What else could it be if there wasn't any dust in the connector?

i anit toke my blade apart yet but i have with my racer

wipe the gold lines on the ribben with a cloth

blow on the connecter to make sure there anit no dust or durt inside it

check the ribben to make sure there ant any fractures

make sure the line on the ribben is in line with the connecter and you

here a click when you push down on the connecter

if that dont work try connecting the ribben and then turn it on will you hold down the connecter

Still doesn't work Ricky.. Tried everything still doesn't work... :)

Nope its a brand new one. The ribbon cable is in tact, i tried the old one and still doesn't work. Could it be the ROM or have I damaged the thing that the cable plugs into????

Don't think you've damaged the connector... Have you tried doing a nandroid backup and then installing another rom?

Tried cyanogen mod 7 Nightly 41 and Swedish Spring RLS5... What others do you reccomend? I'll try FLB Froyo see if does anything....

EDIT: Can't use FLB Froyo I'm Gen 2 :)

Personally I'd take it to a orange shop but as you've replaced the digitizer it's broken the seal things init?

It was a replacement, nearly a month I've had it now. It didn't come with a warranty seal on the screw, Orange Retail and Orange are completely different, As I ordered my over the phone, I have to deal with the directly. Thanks for Your Help so far, just getting the black backplate off

I can't get the camera to focus on the connector, Is there any tell tale signs I should be looking for? I'll do the best I can to get it to focus.

If the Green thing is the PCB then No (no signs of damage or anything like that)

I didn't really wont to phone Orange because last time I had a call with them I requested a new back cover because the replacement OSF didn't fit properly. After the third time in asking, they said the IMEI Number wasn't coming up on the system, saying that replacements don't come up on the system straight away.

Jamie what do you think It is IF there was discolouration to the PCB? Or do you have any idea what's gone wrong? :)

Have to back to my crappy LG Pop until this issue gets fixed. I hate resistive screens!

Well I'm no expert, talk to ma father :) and if there was a discolouration round certain parts it could of burnt, just jUst

LOL, D'you think I should phone Orange and just get a replacement? I would rather sort it, having to fork out £24 to get a new one the F**kin thing doesn't work!

Call them and say you had maps or some other app that heats up phone, and say you left it on charge over night while the app was running and inthe morning it was hot and the touch digitiser didn't work ect,
