I need some help!

Just bought an Orange San Francisco

Have followed StevenHarperUK's guide as far as 'Install Recovery' and it all goes pear shaped.

The recovery file I've got is recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-blade-gen1.img and when I try to install it, it goes through the motions;

looks on /sdcard/IMG/recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-blade-gen1.img,

Are You Sure OK/Cancel

Installing icon

Currently Installed Recovery:

Unrecognised

If I try 'Reboot Into Recovery' at the top and bottom of the screen it says ClockwordMod Recovery v3.0.2.4

with various options in orange text

Am I doing something wrong as it's driving me a bit loopy now :)

Thanks in anticipation!

:) I was just about to post up a load of pictures showing that I don't have a menu option when I saw the big button across the bottom of the screen :)

It's currently rebooting, now have a MoDaCo screen intead of the Orange one - I trust it's going right now?

All running - thanks

The recovery manager program didn't recognise the 3.0.2.4 file until I'd done menu/update database, and I've just re-installed it for this new ROM and I needed to update again.

Apologies for the newbieness - just come over from an iphone and not used to more than one button

Thanks for the help chaps!

I came from iPhone too - I have been forced to dev an App for the last three weeks on iPhone at work - and all the nightmares were re-lived.

Is it all working now? :)

Me? yes, thank you - after 3+ hours downloading and reinstalling ROMs before I posted here yesterday, I decided to have a relatively phone-free day today apart from a bit of Endomondo around the local reservoir.

Is there a email app that works like the iphone's? (ie stays 'live' and receive email as it arrives) - I got K9, but closing it seems to shut it down.

Thanks, I'll try that :)

I debranded an Orange phone and the Orange guy I spoke to just before the big switch suggested K9 as an alternative to Orange's email thingy, which involved extra ££

Having got K9 I never looked for a built in one, just reinstalled K9

I ended up with Sebastian's r9_update_de-orangeated_blade_signed.zip - Tried the MoDaCo Custom Rom - r4 but the sceenlock wouldn't go, so ditched it - just seen the MoDaCo one is OLED - is that why the screen stayed locked?
