cm7 3g/HSPDA icons in status bar keep goin from green to grey

I have looked but found no answer, basicly im on cm7 39 gen1, and every so many miniutes the hspda icon changes from green to grey, and when i am in the middle of downloading sumthing it stops the download, i never noticed this on froyo, what does it mean and how can i fix it?

Green is when there's a active connection and that it's in use and gray is when it's not in use (any data transfer)

but every 5-10 mins it goes from green to grey than back to green why?

Sometimes it does lose connection alot, a reboot usually fixes it

When on charge i leave the screen on so connections stay active its always green, for at least 5 minutes after boot it stays grey. Also when my screen is off and my phone sleeps everytime I wake it up it has to re-connect. Its just the way the network is. You only notice this because CM7 seems to be the only ROM with the two colours.
