snatching system fiels form htc phones

Hi,

I have a sovear problem with VPN connectivity on my blade even with the most recent CM7 rom only pptp works, but i need ipsec/vpn

a colege of myne at the university has a HTC desire with the oldr 2.2 android on it and no problems whats at all connecting to the VPN,

So i wanted to ask if it would work to transplant the files form his pnoen to myne?

Also can i get someware HTC images the person i know does not realy want to root his device or rist damaging somethign, even though my asurances taht to copy a few files off can't damage nything.

No it won't work because the HTC Phones use Sense which uses different Libs that are not compatible with CM7.

L2TP/ipsec vpn is in the Swedish Spring ROMS so I assume it is in Gingerbread too?

If you're so desperate for VPN, go back to a 2.2 ROM that has it. Don't use an experimental piece of software if it doesn't have a feature you "need".

Well.. thats kind of a problem, the stock rom is only 2.1

and my unit is one of there with that touch screan problem: http://android.modaco.com/content-page/331...w-rom/page/220/ so a regular 2.2 wont work.

I'll ask in the thread for a 2.2 kernel with the bugfix

EDIT: there is already a working 2.2 rom and the vpn works :) thx all!
