audible notifications from Facebook etc.

Hi all,

Currently running a 3 week old Vega on r8. Not moved on yet as very,very happy with everything.

got DolphinPro browser and LauncherProPlus so all paid apps.

I'm having difficulty working out how I get audible notification from apps like Facebook. My speaker volume is up and not in silent mode, the FB app is set to send notifications using several tested "ringtones" and I even get the visual notification on the taskbar when a pm or chat comes in. But no sounds play..

Is this a known issue or have I stumbled upon summat new?

Don't use Facebook myself (one of the few I guess) but as I understand it on Android you can either access FB using a browser to access their site or use a special FB Android app available off the Market. Which of these routes are you trying to use?

The FB widget at the bottom of the Vega screen just opens the browser version by the way.

If it is the FB app then I would expect the alert notifications to work whereas the browser session I presume only works for the time you remain logged in and as you are probably already aware the Vega will lose its wi-fi connection if it is allowed to go into sleep mode which will affect both variants. Let me know what the symptoms are? :)

P.S> Can you check that you have not accidentally set the Vega into silent mode to SETTINGS > SOUND SETTINGS > SILENT MODE and the Notification sounds in the dropdown menu within settings match those you say you have allocated within FB?
