Hi.

Can someone please point me to a TUT that shows me how to convert a dvd to an avi so i can play it on my vega. I have used the search but can't seem to find a step by step tut. They all seem to be for HD..

I had the same problem two weeks ago. Try this lil' beauty

It's totally free you never have to pay for it and you can rip DVD's and convert them into video files. It's very cool :)

WOW Super quick reply, i'll give it a go now :) Any settings etc for the screen i should know about ?. :)

Hard to say mate sorry I haven't done it for a vega before. But the screen res for the vega is 1024x600. Try and find an option close to that. If you don't know how to rip it go to ROM Device\DVD\CD\ISO on the left hand side. Then DVD to video. Then click output settings. Then click default next to video size and look at the different resolutions available there :( Trial and error I guess sorry. Unless anyone else knows different :huh:

Use handbrake or mediacoder.

Just match the res to the vega and use mp3 audio as ac3(common) needs licences that the vega doesnt have.

I know that there are lots of freeware about that do a good job, but for ripping directly from a DVD I prefer WinX DVD Ripper. It is easy and fast, but it is not free.

Hi. i am now trying media coder. Does it come out at the end as one complete avi file or do i have to join them..?
