Hardware mods?

Has anyone carried out any hardware mods on their vega yet?

There are a few things i would like to do.

1. add a ssd internally

2. add 3g internally

does anyone know if there are redundant usb pinouts on the board?

also has anyone tried using a non powered hub on the external usb port?

i to am interested in hardware modding especially SSD, also any chance we could change the camera? or even adding a heatsink or sheet of copper to the cpu for even faster overclocks?

I beleve if you search you will find the 3g has been done the main problem is no sim card socket! also on xda someone is looking into the docking port to try and access the extra usb socket

hello guys, I'm Brazilian, I bought a POV mobi, put the R8 firmware, I really liked, my there is a connector to put the sim card, I'm thinking about buying on ebay mini pci-e huawei em770w, as seen in the forum 3g will work, could someone tell me if the GPS too? because I saw that there are several but the em770 em770w contain GPS.

have enclosed some photos for those who have doubts about what has or not the card reader yes, the cap seems to really lock in q something, but it is easy to open with a knife.

I have the Huawei EM770W in my tablet, but GPS is not working. 3G is working fine. But of course no phone calls, but SMS and Internet access is working fine.

Others have done it. You would need to open the vega to install it but look in the forum there are pictures of a stripped down pov.

Nobody so far has identified what the port that the mini pci for the 3g on the mobi connects to is. If you could idenitfy that and source parts for it then hardware moding would have plenty options.

I installed Ericsson F3307, it support 3G but no phone call, sms and gps.

Hi guys,

I found this interesting datasheet (attached) somewhere on the Net. It proves that HUAWEI EM770W does really contain GPS and there are AT commands to turn it on and off. Maybe someone of you will be able to play with it via PuTTY installed on tablet.
