Guest Len Ash Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) Have you found a new brand of super strength coffee? ;o) GJ LanceH, thanks :) Oh, whilst I think about it.....what do you mean by: "Enhanced autobrightness behaviour"? LOL - while I'm waiting for a couple of things to de/compile and batch converting a serious shedload of massive .eps images for work... The stock ROM ab behaviour is something ZTE overlooked (or put another way, ANOTHER thing they overlooked). CM7 is the only other derivative ROM that exhibits even worse behaviour... TBH the JJ9/SSx ROMs aren't too bad. All I've done is modify the sensor scaling and increased the "dynamic range" of the backlight brightness. So when dark, the screen reduces further, and when bright, the screen gets a little brighter. Plus a few adjustments to the steps. The effect is more noticeable and effective on TFTs (they will go dimmer and brighter than OLEDs). For my own variant (a real mongrel ROM), I have doubled the number of brightness vs. sensor Lux values in the arrray to yield a very smooth transition from dark to light. Nice. Cheers Edited April 23, 2011 by Len Ash
Guest ThrashMan Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Sweet work :) Is there a file users can edit before/after ROM installation to apply our prefered AB levels?
Guest Lord_Snake Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 [*]Enhanced autobrightness behaviour Its possible to get this feature like an update to the stock RSL5? Thanks :)
Guest Len Ash Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) Sweet work :) Is there a file users can edit before/after ROM installation to apply our prefered AB levels? There is, although it requires decompiling framework-res.apk, amending arrays.xml (in a text editor) recompiling the apk, signing with the platform key. Not difficult, you just need to set your stall out to do it. I could do a Dummies guide at some stage (it would allow users to mod other things too - the apk has most of the look/feel/UI bits in it, and things like the default wallpaper). Launcher is another good one to decomplie to change the stock wallpapers and so on. Edited April 23, 2011 by Len Ash

Thx for the work LanceH Usually helps get a position fix quickly - works well in Car Nav. It isn't enabled in any SS. IIRC. Wipe not necessary, unless something is already misbehaving.
Guest XpressAndy Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) Has the launcher been changed? I'm not able to customize it. How can I customize homescreen, app drawer settings etc? If it's a new laucher, how can I get the launcher from RLS4 Respin phat back? Has the stock sms app been completely removed? Go SMS Pro suggests to keep the stock sms app! It helps it function error free. Thanks :) Edited April 23, 2011 by XpressAndy

Guest Len Ash Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Just download it from the market? I use Launcher Pro. Indeed, the Jury is out on Launchers... some like ADW, some stock (as this is) and some LauncherPro. The choice is out there...

Thanks yet again for your work :) BTW - what is com.appspot.swisscodemonkeys.apps.apk and is it safe to remove..? It's the AppSpot Market - tends to be more "useful" than Google Market - updates tend to be earlier too, despite AppSpot using the Market for the files themselves. You can kill it.
Guest TheBrainKafka Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 Hi LanceH. An really useful and cool feature would be to have the energy things (wifi/gps/bt/3g/...) in the notification bar included. Do you know how to get this in there? Thx for great work!
