An addy? What do you mean?

Have you got a file manager pre - installed? Because then you can put the apk on your sd card, go to it on the file manger, click on it and install! Or you can download the google apps pack from the CM7 post and then flash it like if you have CLockworkMod recovery:

Place it anywhere on your SD card, go to recovery (hold power on + volume key down), install zip from (something here, cant remember what!), choose zip from SDCard(?) then go to where you put the zip file and then click ok to flash it!

Hope I helped.

Thank you for the two very prompt replies to both my posts.Perhaps I didn`t post the question properly,I am starting from scratch with the SF and so far I have unlocked it to work on my O2 pay monthly account no problems, now what I want to do is download some apps from the market but it wont let me because I do not have the A_M apk installed.I have googled the apk file using the phone but can`t find a suitable download.I was wondering did anyone here have an address (addy sorry) where I could download to the phone direct.

You said something about a file manager,do I need one of these as well ?

In the words of the younger generation ,I am a NOOB !!

Thanks for being patient.

Download this Google apps file http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/...0307-signed.zip then extract it. In the extracted directory navigate to /system/app/ copy vending.apk to you phone. Now open filer, file vending.apk (the one you just put there) and seelect it. Follow the on screen insturtions and market should appear in your app drawer.

so sorry, I just realized that file may not work, it may be only 2.3 compatible. you could try and find an eearlier one yourself, and the file would more likely e called market.apk.

the easiest way is downloading a stock Rom, unzipping its contents and copying the market.apk to your phone and installing in the ssame way I mentioned above

I thought as much. sorry. that only works with android 2.3+

did you try the link to the other post I posted more recently?

if it doesn't work it needs HTTP:\\ infront of it.

If I were you I would install "Rom Manager" manually (By putting the apk on your sd card), flashing clockwork then a custom rom

Would be easier, faster and much better than manually adding all the GApps yourself :)
