Guest k0zmic Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) Hi, on every CM7 version I've tried the Proximity Sensor doesn't seem to work. I haven't seen many people complain about this so I'm a bit confused. On Swedish Spring it works fine, however on CM7 whenever I receive or make a call the screen just goes black and I usually have to pull out the battery to get back to the home screen. I've tried calibrating it etc. and done the test thing using the 2.1 stock ROM but it made no difference. Any ideas, solutions and thoughts would be welcome. Edited April 25, 2011 by k0zmic
Guest ThrashMan Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 That problem was sorted out a long time a go on CM7. What version are you using? To test your proximity sensor use Elixir
Guest k0zmic Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 That problem was sorted out a long time a go on CM7. What version are you using? To test your proximity sensor use Elixir I know that's what baffles me. I'm currently on Swedish Spring but on all the nightlies and stable I've had the problem. I just tested and it seems to be fine. I'll flash Nightly 51 and report back.
Guest k0zmic Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) I ran Elixir on CM7 Nightly 51 and the sensor thinks I'm always 4cm away. Never changes even if my finger is right up to it. Then the second time I turned it off and on, it doesn't show any distance just a dash - probably meaning Null. If it's any help, it a sensor made by Taos Corp. Swedish Spring detected it x centimeters away fine. Edited April 23, 2011 by k0zmic
Guest k0zmic Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Solution: I just disabled the use of proximity sensor in a bit of an odd way. Call settings > Choose 'In Call Touch UI' and 'Keep screen awake'.

Guest k0zmic Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Tried that not too long ago when having same problems, just wound up pressing buttons with my face. Hmm I see. It's an okay solution for me since I don't make too many calls. Do you still have the same problem?

Guest richardkemp Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I wouldn't say mine is perfect. Sometimes it is, but sometimes it seems to lag a lot or not work. However.. my screen will always wake again with no delay if I press menu or power. My only issue is that sometimes I end calls with my face because the prox sensor didn't turn the screen off.

I see, mine just doesn't want to wake up for some reason.
Guest k0zmic Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 Well, I just re-flashed CM 7.0.2 and now the issue isn't as bad in it's default state. For example, in the app elixir the Proximity sensor detects my finger the right distance away but doesn't change. During calls the screen doesn't get stuck anymore. Similar for anyone else?
