Cyanogenmod 7 gaming causes graphics glitch

I started this thread because i just bought my device and first thing i did was to flash cyanogenmod 7 but now i'm starting to think that the problems i'm having, is it only me who's having these problems. What i found is that by hardware acceleration enabled by default in cyanogemod, there are graphics glitches and texture missing when playing open world games such as miami vindication. I chosen this game because it's an open world game and requires lots of texture rendering (aka GPU stress) but when i disabled hardware acceleration using an app called blade buddy, the game ran fine BUT the UI started to lag like crap.

So i started this thread to share my problems with other if others are having similar problem, do report please. Also if you play miami vindication specially, i would like to know if it runs fine.

Screenshots comming soon !

yh same thing happening to me. Im on cm7 stable atm

modern combat sandstorm: when i disable hw acceleration, the textures become less glitchy but its still impossible to play.

However all other games work fine such as nfs, pro evo :/

i've attached the pics as you can see the graphics are messy...

EDIT: i've changed heap size to 24, hw = disabled and in spare parts, i've disabled the animations...the FPS in neocore seems to be increased by 2 FPS...

but problem remains the same.

Please rate this, i've started a topic in the bugstracker list HERE

try upping VM to 32mb.

you can experiment with stagefright and hw acceleration settings, they seem to make a difference for many people. i'm not sure if the stagefright settings will affect CM7 though.

unless you're a developer, i'd recommend you use swedish spring instead of CM7. you'll find it a lot smoother/faster.

gaming is slower...i've checked all of the custom roms around including N41, 7.0 stable, N22, FLB r11b, swedish spring both 4th and 5th version and the fastest one right now is N22 tbh.

In neocore, it scores around 42 FPS when swedish spring scores 34 FPS and FLB r11b scores 38 FPS. I expected CM7 stable to be bugfree but there were 2 major problems in it, accelerometer reaction and this glitch which has been present in all of the 2.3.3 roms and yet no one caught it...what's the point of speed if you can't play games :/

do you install overclocking for SS? as you say, there's no good running fast if it isn't smooth and everything working. did you experiment with SS and different hw/stagefright settings?

Im on nightly 51 atm. If its a jump to gen2 that you aren't prepared to take then I'm happy to test some games for you - assuming they are free :)

Oh, and, FYI, you might aswell go gen2 with wbaws TPT method. Its safer and easier. And you can go back to gen1 with no problems.

but gen2 doesn't seem to have lots of advantages over gen1 and there aren't a variety of roms as well for gen2. Attach a link to the method you described above.

Why does it have to have lots of advantages?

Gen 1 - gen 2 is just a simple TPT image to flash now can you can flash back with ease too.

It's not a massive procedure or anything. You dont get IMEI problems with the new methods either..

SS and CM7 are both avalible for gen 2 too.

(And the rest can be converted..)
