can anyone update pepe's zip so that it is compatible with the latest clockwork recovery?

cheers

Go to rom manager and downgrade 2.5.0.7 - The new clockwork recovery isn't FULLY functional.

I installed this after having cm6 plus

I found this much much more stable, a lot faster. battery lasts a lot longer

all ive done is removed the stock launcher and replaced it with adw.

I have tryed the Launcher PRO, and I find even faster.... I am using it now and like it.

To put it short:

2.1 Rom pros:

1. No sudden slowdowns (it happens on CM6 and CM7)

2. Camera working falwlessly (on CM6 it has to slowed down with fix, on CM7 does not exist at all)

3. Smart dial (very important thing for me )

4. Orientation sensor always work (on CM6 after few days it does not work anymore)

5. GPS works without problem (on CM6 it stoped working after few hours)

6. Battery lasts longer

CM6 pros:

1. It is newer

2. It is faster ( in benchmark) in real word I dont see the difference

3. Gmail app is better

4. Power widget in notification area is better

Most intensive apps I use are Angry Birds, and Navigation, both work same on both roms. (CM7 is not for everyday use yet)

Regards,

Pepe

Can 2.1 ROM run Skype (free apps for IDD phone call) ? it need 2.2 custom ROM.

cheers

@Casterina: Thanks

@Rommaker: Thanks as well. Upgraded my mom's pulse from 1.5 to your ROM and it runs equally smooth, if not smoother! This is the first 2.1 ROM that she's used for a day without complaining about one thing or the other.... :P

Hi,

You dont have to unzip it, just copy it on the sd card somewhere, reboot in to clockwork recovery, and flash it from there. SAme way You

did it with CM

All other updates failed with :

Have You installed clockwork recovery ? - I think there is some problem....

Mine is 192MB too, so it should work. Try to boot to clockwork, I tink menu+home +powerbutton, after that You can try to flash again.

Yeahh, you can install recovery clockwork by two ways;

1. go to fastboot and install the recovery file image

2. download rom manager and go on flash clockwork recovery and it should download and install.. and go on menu home powerbutton like pepe24 said.

Ah the old wifi bug. Yeah I think I know what this is. Open the zip and delete the file wifi inside /system/etc/ then flash again. Wifi should work then.

Flibblesan (and others), dsixda has stated that he intends to fix this bug in future versions of the kitchen. Seems he was not aware it existed.

Can anyone compile a 710MHz (or higher, was the limit 728 or 748MHz?) OC kernel? I'm getting insanely long battery life that I don't really need (wtf, right? I just let my pulse hit the charger every night so I don't need it to run for a long time, it can stand ~5 days right now... per charge. I think I can spare a bit.).. so I want some more speed. :)

Thanks.

WOW!!!!! Five days?!!!!!! I have got to try this rom. :)

Which one of the linked roms are you using (rbmhu or ttnetmobil)?

I've tried using the latest UK rom, and even that doesn't give me any real boost in battery life. I'm still looking for something that will definitely get me through a whole day of regular use.

Data usually off, 3G/EDGE data otherwise, for about 2-3 hours per day when I'm away from home. Other than that, pretty much a couple hours texting per day, no phone calls.

Wifi off when data is on, otherwise on and connected. Almost never use it though except for some market and browsing when my iPod touch is not working well.

No gaming.

Brightness always at 100%, OC'd at 691MHz (245MHz min).

I have a 80% larger battery though so that might be why I am getting insanely long battery life. Well, even on CM7 this phone could get roughly 1 day of regular usage (that is, the battery log showed me ~1D 23H or something before I let it hit the charger, but I got used to do that a few days ago, batteries don't like getting ran down quickly).

RBM ROM.

Ok,

After detailed test, I found that this rom is great, it has problem (at least me...) with a2sd, it slows down

after any settings, so I decided to remove a2sd, and instead use link2sd , and swapper2.

This time rom is very stable, and very fast.

Modifyed: Added opengl 1.1 (it was allready there, but with wrong lib file)

Kernel with 691MHz clock with USB storage fixed

WIFI Fix (Thanks to Leeshore)

Updated MAPS

GPS conf set to Europe (faster GPS fix)

Updates APNS conf to support many providers

Added Link2SD 1.6 (have to only restart it once after first start) - Must have at least two partitions on sd (first FAT32 allmoust all of the sd card,

and second fat32 or ext2,ext3 around 300MB - ext2 recomanded)

Added swapper2 (start it, it will create swap file 32MB, only change the swappines to 30 - it is better than default 10)

Removed everyting about a2sd ( I hope so, maybe it would be easyer to ask Flibblesan to make one without a2sd...)

It should fit on any 8220 or 8230 (as I have U8230 with small memory)

From clockwork recovery first factory reset (format data) and after flash the zip file

Pepe

I installed this ROM last night and it seems pretty good. Nice and fast.

One slight niggle is that annoying message you get when you turn off wifi. If I remember correctly you can disable it by changing something in build.prop using Root Explorer. Can anybody tell me what you change? I've completely forgotten!

On a side note - you should be able to use any framework designed for 2.1. I used Ogiogi's Cyan 2.2 from here and it works fine. Although you do have to go into build.prop to change the clock/text colour in the notifications bar.

Where did you get that battery? Details, please? :)

Oh, and which boot.img is that? Starkos, Antonio's, which?
