Guest ShahinTehShiz Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Hi guys, I have a friend with an LG Optimus, and he was telling me how he overclocked his device to 900MHz. Now, I've check and I've got No frills CPU already installed (I have Swedish Spring RLS4B) and I wanted to know what would be safe to put the Max clock freq. to? (Its at 604MHz now, but I don't want to put it on 806MHz only to have it crash) and what to put on the Min clock freq (its at 122MHz) and the Governor section (It's on ondemand now).
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 1) Lg Optimus' have the same processor as us, don't they? well 600mhz anyway. I DOUBT he got it to 900mhz. If you haven't got an OC kernel - then it can appear to set the values higher without changing the cpu speed (I though I did this once :L) 2) For most people - its 710mhz. Seems bout average. Some can go higher, some have to go lower. Its Independent to each phone. Mine is at 672mhz, for example.

What will happen if you go too much over? and what did you set for the minimum value and governer? Thanks

Thanks Normally if you go over your phone reboots. So your best bet is not too store it as ur permanent speed or may never be able to turn it off again.

And does SS RLS4b have the OC kernal?
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 yes use stcpu it's a lot better (you can create profiles like sleeping blade charging blade) oc kernel yes my blade run fine at 710 and 729 mhz
Guest Ron=) Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Okay, well do you know if I should use the overclock widget or SetCPU? And does SS RLS4b have the OC kernal? It does. You can use either.. SetCPU, overclock widget, no-frills etc. I personally use no-frills as its free!
Guest ShahinTehShiz Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 Thanks for all your answers, any idea what I should put as the max/min speed? And should I tick on the set on boot option? (I can change it though, right?)
Guest Daimaah Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 SetCPU is free too, just have to get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419 But if you like the app, you can support the developer by buying the app from the Market.

(I can change it though, right?) Do not click set boot untill you know your phone is stable. Just remember setting the cpu at higher speeds affects battery. Default min speed is fine. Every processor can be over clocked differently it seems most can reach 710 but it may be different for you so have look.
