Hi all ,

Probably a really dopey question , but here goes anyway.

My daughter sent me a MM text this morning , a piccy of the grandkids , but the phone says it cant downlaod it?

I take it I have something set wrong as my old basic nokia did this no problem.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

What do you mean by "the phone says it cant downlaod it"?

Do you have wifi/mobile data turned on when you're trying to download?

Which mobile network are you with? It may be a problem with the APN settings.

Taken from here, try entering these settings -

Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > GSM/UMTS Options > Access Point Names > Press the Menu key > New APN >

Name: Vodafone UK

APN: For Pay monthly: wap.vodafone.co.uk OR For Pay as you go customers: pp.vodafone.co.uk

Username: wap

Password: wap

MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms

MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.12

MMS Port: 8799

MCC: 234

MNC: 15

APN Type: *

You'll need to turn your phone off then on again for MMS to kick in.

Let us know how you get on! :)

Also try "sending" a picture message first, with my provider (Virginmedia) this activated the MMS account, i had the same issue until i sent one, now i can receive and view with no problem :)

Thnx guys , the default, supl, mms seems to have done the trick. I managed to send a pic to my daughter , just waiting for a test pic back.

Nice to have it working now that I've given up on the emails , the imap thing was confusing me so I'm sticking to my outlook express.
