Guest eMarcus Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Hi, As I am forced to enter a 8-digit alphanumeric password whenever the phone locks its display (employer security policy), I am seeking for a ROM that supports setting different timeouts for turning off the displaylocking the displayso that I can set a timeout of ie. 1 minute for turning off the display, but 30min for locking it. In that case, I would only be forced to enter the password if I would not use the phone for longer than 30min, which is somehow acceptable. I know that CM7 does support this feature, but would like to test other ROMs (Modaco, Swedish Spring, etc...). I would be very thankful for any recommendations! bye Marcus.
Guest heavyduty00 Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Think only cm7 works for this unfortunately.

Guest Zalforto Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 It's absolutely bonkers that the Android dev's have not yet added this IMO essential feature by now. I want to save the battery, so a quick screen time out would be great - I just don't want to have to unlock it every minute as well...
Guest sambartle Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 (edited) I think you can change this setting with JuiceDEfender (edit.. it does and it works on Modaco r12 at least with UltimateJuice.. I imagine plus would do it.. and maybe the free one.. but JD Ultimate is worth every penny anyways) Edited April 29, 2011 by sambartle

You just need to wait for the timeout, when you turn off the display manually by pressing the On/Off button, it will immediately lock the display. Thanks, that really made my day! bye Marcus.
