Guest Vuhadzu Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 (edited) Hi, i followed the instructions here to flash the latest Froyo bin file on my phone. It's been stuck at this point for 2 hours now. Is it meant to take this long or has it crashed in some way? The actual phone is completely non-responsive - i haven't removed the USB cable yet as i'm afraid of bricking the phone. Can somebody please offer some advice? Thanks. Guest HustlinDaily Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Remove and replug the device quickly http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...-please-sticky/ DO NOT TAKE OUT THE BATTERY, DO NOT TURN IT OFF
Guest Vuhadzu Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 (edited) Thanks. It restarted the flashing process then stopped again for ages. So i did the same, unplugged/replugged quickly, and then it said the flashing had failed, you can now remove the usb cable, and a restoration is required. Now when i boot my phone it just comes up with "Fastboot" text and does nothing else. The Acer Tool no longer recognises the phone as being connected so i can't try flashing a bin file again. Is my phone bricked? Or can i do a "restore" as the Acer Tool program mentions? Edited April 25, 2011 by Vuhadzu
Guest cKen Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 did u instal malee recovery first? it always happens the same to me idk why, but after that i run malez recovery and flash the rom i was flashing the BIN for, and it boots normally, u should try so
Guest Vuhadzu Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 It's all working now, thanks. I had to uninstall the Acer drivers and "Fastboot device" in Device Manager, which the phone was being recognised as when connected. The Acer Download Tool then recognised the phone as connected again and it's successfully flashed the bin file.
