Larger density settings, phone/contact.apk, and deodexing

So, one of my biggest annoyances with my Streak, is that the phone/contacts.apk isn't stable at any screen density other than 160. If you've tried out at 180 or 190, it make the on screen keyboards a little easier to use (and HTC_IME wont work at anything under 180). I just installed 351, rooted and installed StreakMod recovery, I've changed my DPI to 240 :) (I'll probably lower it a bit later). As usual, my phone.apk crashes once in a while, and will make it impossible to awnser calls sometimes, also the caller name/number can't be seen when receiving a call.

My understanding is that because Android uses a standard API for interfacing with the radio for telephony (RIL), we should be able to throw in a stock AOSP phone and contacts apk. However, I know permissions need to be set right, and id I'm understanding right, system/app/* and system/framework/* needs to be deodexed before I can drop in a apk from CM6.

Are my assumptions right? I'd love to have a 180-200 density setting and a WORKING phone.

I'm having some problems deodexing right now, but I'm using xUltimate to do it, I'm a script kiddie at heart :)

Which keyboard and dialer do you use?

when I have my density up to 200-240ish I use dialerone or touchpal dialer...for keyboard I use thumb keyboard or smartkeyboard pro..

these are my personal choices...I am sure there are many others out there..

Cause I want to replace the dialer completely, and I like HTC_IME, also a higher density makes it easier to make selections on the screen. Obviously this is preference. If using a aftermarket dialer proves to be stable, an won't FC, but can be run along side of the stock phone/contacts, then that would be fine. Anyone have any good idea how to deodex the 351 apps and framework?
