Guest ronnyuk Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Ok heres a strange one, used the LG updater to update my X2 and it downloaded the 200+mb file fine, I have an unlocked Vodafone X2 and once the install started it hung around 10% and the came back with a data connection error, so it asked to retry it and I did this 10 times every time it errored same reason. So this morning I have no phone, all it says is updating, so I download Pauls ROm recovery and it works a treat, installed the drivers etc and clicked the .bat file and 3 mins later I am running 2.2.2 on my phone as before. Except one quite importent thing, I have no signal... no network at all, and also no baseband is showing in About Phone... Any ideas? On my X10i when I changed the Rom I noticed I had to use a program to force something to close down, it was in one of the settings, then on reboot the network came back. So I have a working X2 with no network and any help would be appreciated, I have tried 3 diffferent sims, on different providers all do not work :)
Guest Oxtapus Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I presume by 'Pauls Rom' you mean FR12, his latest? If so, try updating your baseband. Instructions are here: http://android.modaco.com/content/lg-optim...35-21-20110405/

Instructions are here: http://android.modaco.com/content/lg-optim...35-21-20110405/ Thanks for replying, no I cannot use his baseband repalcement program as I'm using windows 7 ultimate and cannot for the life of me get the com ports to show up, I have followed all the instructions to the letter but cannot get it to work, if i choose multimode it allows me to click the start button but otherwise it's greyed out. Ran the program as admin and using windows xp sp3 and sp2 under 7 emulation mode. Any other ideas? Thx Ps the smartdrivers used in the post you have linked above are older than then the ones I had installed, 2.1 version comes to mind. pps when I say pauls rom I meant the NVflash rom sorry if I confused you., Edited April 26, 2011 by ronnyuk

Guest Rusty! Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Paul's ROMs wont touch the baseband, you've got to do that with nvflash.

Ok thanks for that Just went back and read through how to use smartflash and dohh what an idiot, I was doing it wrong all along, didn't realise you had to hold volume down and plug cable in, I was doing the hold both volume down  Anyway the baseband install fixed all my issues and I am now donating to Paul for all his hard work, and for me being a noob haha Thx again
