Guest glossywhite Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 After having used Swedish Spring RLS5 for 4 days, I've had to revert back to flb ... because the clock/alarm clock in S.S. is absolutely ghastly. It sets the alarm to repeat daily, BY DEFAULT, & is highly unusable and unintuitive. Was the designer aware that human beings would be needing to set their alarms? A classic example of engineers designing an interface that should have been left to graphical designers or someone with half a clue about human emotion and interaction.

If you don't like it go get a different one from Android Market.
Guest PeteBest Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 That's why you flash the deskclock addon after installing SS. Download is provided in KKs SS thread, really not a very hard problem to resolve :)
Guest glossywhite Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) Stop being so picky... If you don't like it go get a different one from Android Market. So, I'm "picky" because I have the (reasonable) expectation that something should be simple and efficient to use, by default? Was Android your personal brainchild? Stop being so defensive :) It's called having high standards; something that is why the iPhone is the top rated handset experience (I prefer Android btw, before I'm told off for that as well). That's why you flash the deskclock addon after installing SS. Download is provided in KKs SS thread, really not a very hard problem to resolve :) Great! I must have missed that, thanks. Are YOU aware of that different people have different needs and preferences? Classic example of somebody who cant think outside his own small box. I actually PREFER the simpler alarm app in SS compared to the other more advanced ones since its quicker to set and I don't go up the same time two days in a row(or when I justneed to set an alarm quickly). And yes,it's nitpicking, since it's so easy to change alarm app. Blaming it on the ROM is rather silly. It's like switching ROM. cause you don't like the wallpaper...

Guest DannyDanny Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 Yes you are picky. You are using a very stable (hard work involved) rom for free and you are expecting the developer to be a graphical interface designer. Do it yourself than.

Guest Len Ash Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 Dumass. +1 Clearly not a well considered rant, and moreover embarrassing for the OP who missed the almost blindingly obvious alternative offfered on a plate.

Hope this helps  off to find some more, my point is, glossywhite's posts do come across as intimidating if you read too much into them. Edited April 29, 2011 by hecatae

Guest Jekle Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 It show how much people appreciate kallt kaffes work and effort gone into Swedish Spring and you have no right to be defensive or nit pickin' about I think you should forward your comments to him personally I'm sure he's got time for people spitting there dummy out over an Alarm Clock they don't like and an alternative can be found. From Android Market. but so what if iOS has a better standard iPhone 4 £500? And OSF £95 you can't compare something like that to something 5 times the price Android is on lots and lots of devices you can't expect the standard to be the same, OEM's customize there devices in different ways some betters than others I suppose iOS may have the most refined and polished look but there have 4 devices not 10 billion

Guest kar999 Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 Argos sell a wide range of alarm clocks but I couldn't find an Apple one so I'm boycotting them and never shopping there again..so there!!
Guest mallyc Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 I`ve been using the clock/alarm clock in Swedish Spring RLS5 since I installed it, added new alarms, adjusted days alarm is needed, no problems here with it.

Guest JT_daniel Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 I've been using Kalt_kaffe's ROMS for a long time and he's one of the best out there. I mean, really, he's not doing it because somebody's paying him, is he? And hell, changing roms because of an Alarm app?! I'm totally happy with the built in Alarm app, no complaints from me.

Guest t0mm13b Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 sorry sir MASTER HACKER OF UBUNTU OMG GlossyWhite - Change your attitude for a start - you've no idea how bad people say about you on IRC, it needs to be said.... YOU are the most offensive trashy loudmouthed guy posting rants that are obliviously moot point.... so yes "Mr. Ubuntu Hacker", you obviously fit that so-called image of "hacker and having years of experience with Ubuntu", and decided you've set out to fool everyone... but your posts are telling quiet the opposite... Ungrateful, you are towards the community and to the developer who put the ROM together at his expense of his time... GET OVER IT.... you want to whine and moan and bitch.... then internet is not for you.... Oh... if you want an alarm clock, allow me to look up the argos catalogue for you.... here's one that could actually suit your childish needs....
