Cannot get into Recovery Mode and/or upgrade ROM

Hey guys,

OK, im sure you are sick of people like me, but I googled and tried everything, but I just cannot get it to work. I just got ZTE Blade and tried to update android from 2.1 to the latest. I tried to follow the guide at Cyanogenmod but it was to technical/difficult for me and I must have messed up somewhere. Then I tried something else, so I rooted with Universal Androot (I think...) and installed ROM Manager to update, but with no success.

When it reboots to install the new ROM, the phone shuts down during the reboot (when the green android comes up) and restart normally as if nothing happened. The phone works fine, but I just cannot update to a newer version. Also I cannot do a factory reset. Same thing happens here, it shuts down during the reboot.

Can someone please in simple terms tell me how to do a factory reset or update to the newest Android?

Which version of CM7 are you using, assuming you are GEN1 try this: http://mirror.teamdouche.net/get/update-cm...lade-signed.zip

I'm a complete noob so you kinda need to tell me what to do with these files hehe. What am I supposed to do after downloading them?

and what do you mean what CM7 I'm using? I'm still on the original Android that came with the phone. does that answer your question?

Did you install ROM manager? Did it tell you to update it? Check the version, you may be on a gen 2 version (3.0.2.7). Did you choose a gen 2 ROM? If not then try the following

If you scroll to the bottom when in Rom Manager it gives you the option to flash to an earlier version of clockwork, select an earlier version and hopefully that will solve your problem

yes but i guess he didnt knew that and he didnt even install clockwork and for that his phone was doing that . first of all no one asked him which GEN is his phone:::

anyway also he google it? well he found modaco but he didnt searched so much i see.there are guides.
