advent vega

Please could somebody help me... I have now bought an advent vega and I am really struggling to understand some of the features. I have read alot on this forum to try and get some understanding of updates etc but it all seems complicated as people are talking of ROMS etc and I dont know what this means! I am fine on a pc but this is a whole new thing for me. I have tried to do a software update and when I click on the folders I am supposed to, nothing happens, then folder just stays on the screen ( I have read the adobe manual) Also, I downloaded the adobe manual to the device but cannot seem to access it, so I used my laptop to read it and followed instructions of software update with vega plugged into laptop. Why can I not access anything on the device? If I go into file manager and try n click so the tick goes green and i then click to try and open, it just says application not available. (the docs I am trying to access are the manual and advent_vega pdf) I have installed the transfer companion window and music has gone on ok.Help.....

First you need to get the right drivers into your PC.

Follow this:

After you upgrade to 1.09 to get best out of it, install a recovery and a rom. The PDF above explains what rom/recovery is.

For me the hardest thing was to get the drivers in. After that its easy.

There are some nice videos on YouTube that show you how to upgrade the rom.

once you have the drivers installed, i suggest you download vega tools, (search this site for it) then put on clockworkmod recovery. Once you have done that, find the corvus5 rom (its the newest and best custom rom) download it from your vega, you should have an app called recovery that you got by using vega tools, click that, and your vega will boot into recovery, from this recovery use the volume rocker, (up n down) power(ok) back button(back lol) and navigate to wipe system - then wipe cache - then install zip from sd card, choose zip from sd - then navigate to downloads, hit power for ok, select corvus5 rom, hit power for ok, then it should boot that rom, then reboot and your all sorted.

I have now installed vega tools and selected the "recovery" tab and clicked on "Install Paul O Brien clockwork recovery and recovery app and it says:

Try going to SETTINGS > APPLICATION SETTINGS > DEVELOPMENT > USB DEBUGGING and tick the box I presume that's what it wants :mellow:

I cant do this as the error has occured whilst downloading to my laptop so if I change the settings on vega, should I then plug it in to laptop and then try and install? thanks...
