Clockwork Recovery Question

Hey everyone, I would like to start out by introducing myself because I am brand new to the site. My name is Justin Hendrix and I am by no means new to android or android development but brand new to the site. I currently use a Nexus S and have owned and modded just about every phone on every carrier(multiple carrier accounts) and will have many more however the Nexus series has a special place in my heart and the Nexus S will remain my daily driver until the release of the next Nexus series device.

To the topic.

I am posting with a question about something that I ran across in ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.4 , under advanced/Partition SD Card you are presented 6 options ranging from 128M - 4096M . I was wondering exactly what this is affecting and what situation this would be beneficial in. The only thing that I can personally guess that it would be for is saving applications to "Ext" SD memory? I also noticed that it is the same increments of the Read/Write mod for the read_ahead mod but I don't think that its related?

Hopefully someone can clarify this for me
