people usually recommend formatting memory cards before their first use just so its 'done and dusted' - doesnt take 5 seconds!

then you could copy your 2gb card to pc then transfer files on pc to 8gb card

Hi ,

I have installed into my san francisco a 32GB micro HC SD card which I purchased from mymemory.co.uk with no problems.

I think most micro SD cards come formatted FAT32.

First of all I copied all my original files across from the 2GB card.

One word of warning.

Make sure all data has finished copying, as it may take some time to transfer data to the larger cards and if the transfer has not completed, your phone won't recognise it.

I use Linux, so I just logon as root and do a few syncs at the command line and wait for the prompt to reappear.

Have fun
