i have been using the cm7 nightlies for about a month, but had to reflash the original rom n then r8 etc, i have done everything that i did when i 1st installed everything, but this time when i get to rom manager i get an error when i attempt to flash it.

Basically fresh install of rom manager from AM .... notifies me that i need 2 flash the recovery, but when i try to it just comes up with this error message 'an error occurred while flashing your recovery'

it's probably something simple and easy 2 solve, but atm i'm at a loss ...... anybody no what i shud do??

thanx

cm7 full 60 (26th april nightly) but cannot get back into this because rom manager is insisting that i flash it with the recovery ........ when i go 2 the recovery when i turn vega on n try 2 run the zip i get 2 the spinning cyanogenmod logo which remains permanently spinning

edit******

so i downloaded rom manager from AM and cannot flash a recovery image so i get the error, n when i boot into recovery from rom manager i get the android next to the triangle image ................... if i use the vega recovery tool from pauls rom, i can access what appears to be an older version of the recovery ....... i used this 2 install the cm_vega_full-61 zip, but again I'm stuck on the CM7 splash screen (7 mins so far n counting)

is it possible that there is no recovery image 4 the vega on the updated rom manager?? i mean it was working fine yesterday before it updated

does anybody have an older version of rom manager apk?? just so i can see if that will work

the only time i have had this issue was flashing from rom manager instead of clockwork mod, the only thing i could do was put it back to stock rom using the instructions on myadventvega site and then using vegatools to re install clockwork mod then restore my nandroid backup.

it would seem that like me you are stuck in a boot loop, but apart from being a hassle it is fixable

good luck  I wouldn't bother using Tom manager for anything but getting into clockwork mod recovery as it is too unreliable on the Vega and cement is so easy

The link refers to CWM 3.0.2.8. That post is the same as http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...asy-install-v2/.

Using CM7 and ROM manager works like a charm. Flashing ROMS and making backups are working pretty well. Also rebooting into recovery with ROM manager is working.

Just flashing the recovery image with ROM manager is something you should not do.....

i flashed cm7 from latest rom manager and it put me in a boot loop of the cyanogen circle, so you are saying that running cm7 rom manager will flash new roms ??

Just a suggestion, to save everyone flashing stock all the time, check out my backup and restore tool.

It'll save a lot of time ^^

Yup and make backups...

Side note is that i had problems that ROM manager did not boot into recovery when you select to make a backup or flash a rom. But after i did a full wipe and with the latest recovery it works... well for me anyway...

The problem i had was after CM7 nightly #8 and official nightly 60. I did a full wipe from nightly 60 and installed 61 from rom manager. No problem... All ROM manager does is reboot into recovery with some parameters...... CWM does the work. ROM Manager is "just" an interface to control CWM. It cannot destroy anything. Unless offcourse you try to flash another recovery that does not flash correctly.

That's good to know I only use it to get into cwm after the aggro it caused me on Monday so maybe I will give it another spin
