Yes, xbox pad working with any emulator (by now). This will work only in Corvus5 and the roms that has it's kernel (Fuji, maybe, but not tested)

Steps:

1) Copy xpad.ko into your sdcard

2) In connectbot exec:

insmod xpad.ko

(where you have your xpad.ko file)

3) Boot in usb host mode if you are not.

4) Start emulator and setup input

Yes, i know is upside-down.... next will not be...

This will be included in Corvus5 next version.

Dont forgot to extraxt the zip

Corvus.

Hi.

tomorrow i will release this:

Corvus

Now that's exciting, will it be as part of a new rom or a standalone file?

Could PS3 come next? I have a spare controller if absolutely necessary.

*edit* I though I thanked you. Excuse my rude manners.

You have no idea how happy that has made me!! Now when I'm spending a weekend away with work, I don't just have to take a load of porn films with me to play on my Vega....

Awesome!

How hard was it to do? Presumably this will work on all android tabs?

At last, my 360 controller will get some use. Nice work.

Only compile the xpad module modified like in the xda post, but need the kernel sources

It's a xbox compatible pad? if it is, may work.

If is a standar pc i will make some test, because is other module and need modifications.

This looks great corvus, nice work.

Hope you are able to get a standard PC USB Pad to work.

Does anyone know what games this will work with, is it just emulators like PsxDroid or is it any games, like Raging Thunder, ToonWarz or Modern Combat Pegasus, etc.

Thanks in advance.

By now only emulators or games that can be controded using a keyboard (dont know none), because the pad emulates a usb keyboard.

If the pad has an associated .kl you could in theory play games that can be trackball controlled? Just bind the joystick to trackball actions?

Could make a script that switches from trackball keylayout and back ^^

Can someone please tell me what commands I need to enter into connectbot, I've not used it before & am quite stuck.

Thanks.

I just investigate about the possibility of PS3 pad, but is not possible. It's bluetooth pad, but the need to use a usb cable to change pin and the use bt to play... so no way to use it.

The pad buttons are hardcoded in the kernel module. Can be configured in the emulator, but not changed in android. This is the only way it works... if this is changed is not detected as a keyboard and then android ignores it.

Install connectbot from market, then copy xpad.ko in the sd (in the root) and exec in connectbot:

insmod /sdcard/xpad.ko

Once rebooted, if you want to use the pad again, it must be redone.

Thanks, got it. I missed the bit at the top of the post that said you had to unzip it first  Sorry, I'm just used to adding stuff in zips to the Vega now.

It works well with a wired pad, good work. It's a shame that my Hori Fighting Stick EX2 wouldn't work with it, it's a licensed controller too.

adb-windows.exe push <ko file> /sdcard/

adb-windows shell insmod /sdcard/<ko file>

Have you got an old xpad connector to usb? As its not USB by standard (I know the protocol is but the connector isn't) and the new one is it may be unlikely to find anyone made a module for it much less ported it to android. Shame I have like 12 of them.

isnt it just standard usb surrounded by a big plastic bit? as in if you remove the plastic bit around it it is just a standard usb connection

*edit a quick google suggests that it isnt

yea it is sort of you have to cut the xbox plug off and wire in a usb plug (ignoring the yellow) or use an adapter
