Guest Kurdt Kobain Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 I would like to be able to swap the splash screen image between different ROMS. I like the FLB Froyo ROM but am not keen on the multicoloured "X" logo on the splash screen during boot up. Rather than designing my own splash screen I'd like to be able to keep the FLB ROM but simply swap the splash screen for the "android" one found on other ROMS such as Swedish Spring. I've noticed there is a file inside the system/bin folder of the ROM called "bootanimation". Would it just be a simple and safe case of swapping these files over? And is this the only file that needs to be moved in order to change the splash screens?

Guest wbaw Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 The flashing Android logo is the default one, if you have no other animation. So just delete the bootanimation.zip from /system/media
Guest Kurdt Kobain Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Cheers guys I managed to do it! Flashed the boot animation with Clockwork but the splash screen wouldn't work by this method but eventually managed to flash it by fastboot + cmd.
