OSF; Complete novice

Hi, newby here, please be patient as my knowledge is very limited and I don't understand a lot of the jargon used here. I've bougt an OSF and unlocked it. I wanted to use my 02 sim as I've been with them a long time, have credit left on my old sim and the reception is good. I've been to the O2 shop several times and he's installed the settings from the site. I've also copied 2 lots of settings off here but I can't get the internet to work. I just get "no connection" I've now managed to get rid of the Orange homepage. I can't download anything to check which model it is as there's no connection. Has anyone got 02 on OSF?

I'm assuming you're clicking on the radio button next to the APN you entered to make it active?

Other than that I'm out of ideas I'm afraid. :/

Thanks, there are now 5 different APNs set up. The top 4 have the button to the right. I've tried them all. The 5th one and the newest one doesn't have a button next to it for some reason.

though i already had a custom rom on my blade so i didn't have to fiddle with the APN details.

shouldn't be too hard to find the APNs though. you need to set up two. one for 02 calls and sms, and one for mms and internet. you've filled both in right?

also you didn't say in your first post. do calls and texts work fine on your 02 sim?

As for enabling “Data Roaming” you need to un-tick this box. This setting is to stop your provider bankrupting you when you’re on holiday outside of the UK. :mellow:

Just to add while you’re in the Mobile network setting, make sure you have set Network Mode to GSM/WCDMA to Auto.

Presuming you are running 2.2, go Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > tick Data enabled

follow all the instructions and install custom rom on my first android phone as well found everything i needed on there to get it rooted with no major problems if your not on o2 siplicity already contact o2 and get yourself on it £15 a month for unlimited texts data and 100 mins when you have it rooted and up running delete all apns and enter these settings for mms and 3gs

Thanks very much but I have no connection on the phone so can't find out whether I'm gen 1 or 2. All I get is "failed to connect"
