Hello everyone.

I have just ordered my Vega and should be picking it up tomorrow. I got it for £199 because apparently the price goes back up tomorrow!!

Just wanted to know what everyone thinks should be the first things to do with it to get the best out of the machine.

i.e. Best ROM to install, Best/Must Have Apps & software, 3G possibility etc.

Many Thanks Gurus!!

PS, if this has been asked before and I missed it I apologise in advance.

It has been asked many, many times before. The real answer depends totally on your needs and preferences. Your best bet may be to do what I have been doing - watch and read the forums for a week or two to see what others are trying / asking, while playing around with the stock Vega as delivered. That way you will see what is in the factory build and be able to compare with what is appearing through the forum (try the XDA-Developers site too).

After you are used to it, try to do a reinstall of the stock firmware (1.09) from the myadventvega site just to get confidence in reflashing. The instructions there are pretty good and it will ensure you can get back to a stock build when needed. Then you can move onto ClockWork Recovery and try a few other ROMs.

Most of the questions and issues here generally come from users diving in before reading and discovering the quirks of the Vega. I am quite new here, but felt I should 'earn my spurs' by at least doing a recovery to stock by myself before starting to ask other questions.

Have fun with your Vega, it seems to be very adaptable and at the price is probably a system that most of us are happy to mess with. Would you go blindly reflashing a £400 - £500 tablet for example without getting a little worried?
