Syncing the contacts with Google and New Notification Sounds

I have two more questions. Many thanks in advance for your help.

The first issue is my contacts. The contacts on my phone appear to have been stored as "phone local", and not under my google account.

As such none of the contacts are backed up on google.

I have about 200 contacts, and changing all of them will take a while.

Is there a way I can change the contacts properties in bulk to get my phone to sync them with the account?

The second problem are my notification sounds. The stock notification sounds are pretty awful and I can never hear them when in a busy place. How can I add new sounds to the stock list?

These are general questions, not ROM specific questions... try elsewhere.

Make a folder on your phone/SD called Media, and make these 4 folders inside: Alarms, Notifications and Ringtones. And then any file placed in either of the 3 folders will show up in your stock list under those "apps". Meaning that sounds for ringtones, go into ringtones etc.

Either that or get RingsExtended from market, then you can pick ringtones and such from any audio file on your phone.
