Hello,

I've been unsucessfully trying for a half hour to tranform my TFT OSF to GEN2 using wbaw TPT zip. I've copied it to the root of the sdCard in the image directory, I've also copied CM7-Nightly57 to install afterwards.

When i switch my Blade off then reboot it pressing Menu and Vol+ buttons, I get stucked on the green droid, no green lines or useful messages? Anybody got an idea?

Thanks a lot,

San-A

did you unzip it? there should be (sdroot)/images/(some files)

it must be unzipped first.

Hi Jetba,

I sure did unzip in the image directory as explained. But when I press Menu and Vol+ when I restart the phone, it's stucked on the green droid and I have to remove the battery then reboot to CM7 Nightly 35.

First of all make sure you extract the zip as it is and place the /image folder directly into your sd card. Inside the image folder should have a bunch of files named system, boot etc.

If this doesnt work, report back with the type of SD-card you have, some users have reported similar issues and have used different Sd-cards to the stock one.

I had this the other day, I'm not sure it was the cause or not, but I unplugged the USB cable and it worked then.

Trying now with the stock Verbatiim 2GB sdcard. Unmount sdcard with Terminal Emulator:

su

#umount /sdcard

umount: can't umount /mnt/sdcard: Device or resource busy

#

I quit Terminal Emulator and shut the phone off but this time I use the stock Verbatim 2GB sdcard. When I reboot it, I keep Menu and Vol+ buttons pressed, I don't even see the green droid but the green lines. wbaw TPT v3 install with 15 MB cache completes in a few seconds, then reboots to CWM 3.2.0.7.

I wipe all data and caches and install CM7-Nightly57 from Verbatim sdcard, then reclear all data and caches. I shut the now GEN2 Blade off, remove the battery and change the sdcard to the 8GB faster one I usually use. I reboot to CWM, wipe all data, caches, install CM7 from sdcard. Reboot to recovery, wipe all caches and data and install CM7-gps-fix from kalt_kaffe. The last update I install is the google apps package for CM7 in order to recover my data.

I can finally install the google apps back, and reboot the phone. This final ignition is quite long, as CM7 has to set everything up. Give the phone a couple of minutes, and you get the phone to ADW Launcher. I give Google my username and password and Contacts, Market and Apps are automatically installed back. With Titanium Backup I get some apps data back (AngryBirds scores), and SMSBackup&Restore gives me my SMS back.

Now running last CM7 nightly 57 under my TPT GEN2 converted TFT OSF, finally smooth and flawless.

Me happy! I now have to try gps an charging reboot issues fix, but this time I tried to keep less possible data from previous CM7 installs.

Some news after an short but extensive testing on my GEN2 TPT converted TFT OSF, with CM Nightly 57 and kalt_kaffe'sgps fix.

First of all, I have to say this is the smoothest CM7 build I have ever installed on my Blade. All menus and animations are flawlessly displayed, the phone is reactive as it's never been. The charging reboot that appeared with later GEN1 and earlier GEN2 CM7 builds seems to have gone. I charged the phone over the night from 45% and when I unplugged the phone at 7AM this morning it didn't shut down.

I've been aroung for approx. an hour this morning at home with wifi and all Google account sync'ed, some market and Maps apps (GPS gets a fix in seconds even inside), then out with 3G networks only, GPS and 3G data on. Standing still in front of my building, I was able to get a 10m precision positionning in less than 10 seconds. On the walk to the bus station, I switch RunKeeper on to visually track movement on google maps, and calculate pace. I live in an Italian medieval city where city centre is full of small streets, with slow visibility to the sky but most of the time the GPS signal was strong.

As the phone is now a GEN2 phone, radio is supposed to be different, even improved for some. The first noticeable change I've seen so far are the network icon that now displays H instead of 3g in the status bar when I'm using 3G data, meaning that I'm using a HSDPA (or HSUPA) network. Speedtests, though, doesn't prove HSUPA is on, as I've never been able to have 3G upload speeds above 300 kbps.

The only 2 things I now want to check are the battery drain and the accelerometer lag. Today I want to use it intensively (I have on work wifi and 2G only networks on with push sync), after this 3-hour instensive use I've already drained 20% of the battery. Let's see how much the 8-hour work day will drain. About the accelerometer lag, it's said to have arrived when CM7 switched to 2.3.3, but I can remember some topic where someone had some interesting ideas. I'll have to dig into that.
