Guest joanorsky Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 That's it folks! ... in fact i've tried almost every single ROM presented here.. and yet.. the FLB 1.7 seems to be the fastest.. smoothest and stablest ROM i manage to find. I don't know if i am doing something wrong.. or if i have my settings not done correctly.. maybe the partitions are not of the correct size.. or the heap is not configured correctly... i just don't know :o .. because FLB IS in fact the most fast and stable ROM for me.. so.. the question is : "Whats your opinion about the fastest and more stable ROM you know for the Huawei U8220/U8230?" If you think differently (i mean.. if you think the FLB is not the fastest and smoothest) say which one you're using and what have you done to make it work (at least) as smoothest as FLB ROM.. .. this should be interesting!

Guest twrock Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 (edited) I won't compare since I did not use FLB roms, instead using 2.1 roms based on the Tre rom. However, I will say that the CM6 rom I am using (TWeak rom) is the most stable rom I have ever used. I simply do not get fc's or acore warnings, ever. As always, YMMV, but I really like the stability and the added features of the CM6 rom. The only thing it lacks, front facing camera, is a feature I have never used at any time since I bought the phone. Edit: Oh, and if you want to know what I did to get such a stable rom, I have listed it in copious detail in the first two posts of this thread: http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...-modifications/ Edited April 30, 2011 by twrock

Guest twrock Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 [Re: the TWeak rom...] this rom is very nice just that it drain more battery than usual,at least for me ! Just to be sure, so you are saying that in your experience the TWeak rom drains your battery faster than the CM Plus rom does? That would be really interesting news to me, so I want to be sure that is really what you are saying. Antonio, you know the specific changes you might have made that would make the CM Plus rom more battery friendly than the roms I modded. Is there anything you know of that you might have done to improve battery life? I'd really like to know, because a lot of people are still downloading the TWeak rom, and if there is something I can do to improve battery life, I'd like to do it.

When i use the CM6 PLus, i get 96% when i plug it out  Could this be the battery issue or something, or could it be cured by doing a wipe battery stats (if so, can someone give the correct instructions to do so)

As far as I know, I didn't make any changes that were meant to improve the battery life. Indirectly, maybe yes, but I doubt it. Battery life with mine or your ROM should be pretty identical.

Guest joanorsky Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Well.. it's CM6 for me. After a few days testing most of the ROMs... i must agree that CM6 is actually the stablest and fastest ROM for pulse.. at least for me..

What about sysctl changes.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523707 it says that it could save battery life.... does the Twrock rom has the same setting?
Guest twrock Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 What about sysctl changes.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523707 it says that it could save battery life.... does the Twrock rom has the same setting? The TWeak rom does not have the same sysctl.conf settings as CM Plus. However, the settings in CM Plus are as follows: kernel.sched_latency_ns = 600000 kernel.sched_min_granularity_ns = 400000 kernel.sched_features = 24188 Far be it from me to know what those settings do, but I don't see those same settings referenced in the link you gave, so I don't know if there would be any effect on battery life. (And that post is a little old, rev. June 2009, so I don't even know if those settings are valid/useful for a 2.2 rom; I'm just don't know enough to make that kind of decision.) At this point, I'm inclined to think that the report of worse battery life in the TWeak rom is a one-off issue for an individual user. I personally have not seen a drop in battery life with TWeak when compared to other 2.1 and 2.2 roms I've used. But, if I have the time later, I might simple add Antonio's sysctl.conf to phone and watch what happens. It can't hurt........... ;-) Maybe Antonio will weigh in on this.
