Guest Lukas Zapletal Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 Got a stock rom 1.08 on Pov Tegra. Id like to start with custom rom - most likely with corvus5. WHAT SHOULD I DO FIRST? I expect to do some backup. What tool to use? Should i also backup and transfer apps i already bought? I dont see them on my online account. Then I need to flash using the usb cable, dont I? Please recommend me tools that work under Linus as I dont have win box.

Guest Lukas Zapletal Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 (edited) Ok I will start with that tutorial. Unfortunately when I enable USB debugging and try to connect my Vega to my computer (running Fedora Linux 14), nothing happens (no device found in the syslog). And ADB commands do not work as well :-( I have my USB Debugging Setting ON. I connect the USB cable and nothing in the syslog. When I try to boot into recovery mode I see proper log_ May 1 06:01:02 shark kernel: [ 6333.967034] usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3 May 1 06:01:02 shark kernel: [ 6334.085176] usb 1-2: New USB device found, idVendor=0955, idProduct=7820 May 1 06:01:02 shark kernel: [ 6334.085180] usb 1-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 May 1 06:01:02 shark kernel: [ 6334.085183] usb 1-2: Product: APX May 1 06:01:02 shark kernel: [ 6334.085185] usb 1-2: Manufacturer: NVIDIA Corp. Not sure, but I read somewhere that the pov Mobii ROM is using the USB always in host mode, that's why your computer doesn't see it. If you plan to play around with ROMs anyway, try to flash another stock ROM, like the one for the Advent Vega. This ROM uses the USB in slave mode. You can get the 1.09 Advent Vega ROM from this link.
Guest Lukas Zapletal Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Thanks that worked but unfortunately I am not able to install Corvus5 on my Mobii. http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...l-lots-of-roms/
