Guest anbeyon Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Hi all I'm new here, although have been reading the posts for a little while. I'm interested in buying the Advent Vega and then using one of the available ROMs to improve it. However, I've been looking @ both PC World and Currys web sites and see the Vega (today anyway) listed at two prices £199.99 and £237.97. Can someone tell me what the difference is please. I've looked at the details and can't see one. Thanks in advance Anbeon.
Guest ViPaSoft Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 You've been reading for a while eh! You obviously haven't found the search button yet though. http://android.modaco.com/index.php?act=Se...%2Bvega+pricing

Guest Jisonga Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 There did used to be a price difference between models pre installed with flash and those that required a free download to get flash working and as such were cheaper to buy. But not to sure this is still the case with all new vegas. jason.
Guest Zebrahead Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 I think I read somewhere that it was due to a Royal Wedding or Easter sale mabye? Now that these have passed, it's risen again.

Both are £199.99 and so it is not surprising folks get confused. To make things worse, PC World are listing the one without Flash at £239.97 and the one with Flash at £199.99.

If you try to buy the one at PCWorld at £239.97 it will say 'Out of Stock', only the ones at £199 are available. I got mine at £199 last week while visiting England, at a PCWorld (btw: they told that the price had dropped because they were clearing the stock, as within two weeks they expected to have around 20 different models of Tablet available, though they might have been exaggerating when they said '20 models'). When I got to Heathrow last night for the flight back to Germany I saw that Dixons (Terminal 1) had a Vega on display. I asked the price and they replied £181. Of course, this is the duty-free price, but is the best price currently. Rock Edited May 2, 2011 by RockVacirca

Guest Stevonator Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 (edited) The 239.99 model was the price the Vega was originally before the major reduction in price to £200.00 In answer to your question there is absolutely nothing different between the two. So if you're going to buy one but the £200 model. Don't pay a penny more :o Edited May 3, 2011 by Stevonator
Guest paulmartin Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I bought mine last week for £199 and got ten percent off the docking station because I nought it at the same time.
