Guest somewhatdog Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, searches for 'composite out' or 'TV out' aren't constructive... What options do you have to connect a Vega to a TV and what is displayed? Is it - as with a lot of phones - only specific things like video which are sent to the TV or does the TV become a mirror of the tablet's screen... I'm thinking mainly of capturing video of applications/games I'm developing - so ideally I'd like a 'mirror the screen' output to a composite connection - HDMI-based capture is rather costly atm!?
Guest warriorscot Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 You use the HDMI port and it just mirrors the screen on the bigger display.
Guest Shaizer Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 The only way to output the vega to a tv is HDMI, it outputs every part of the OS (not just media), if you're trying to screencast then I think there are apps that can do that but there's something wrong/missing in the kernel of the rom I'm running (corvus5) which isn't letting me take screenshots so can't confirm anything.
Guest warriorscot Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 The screenshot thing was done using a bug that was patched on the version of android in the vega, you can still take screenshots over the usb with the right tools from the android sdk.
Guest somewhatdog Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Thanks for the info - HDMI capture is too costly so I guess I'm aiming back at the Galaxy S/Tab (which both output composite AFAIK) - hey ho!
Guest thwacker Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 The AVerTV CaptureHD H727 will record HDMI sent to it. Mind you it's £99.
