Guest ontherocks Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Is it possible to download the application installation files from Android market locally to your computer? What you generally get is auto installation to your device. It would be good to have the installation files downloaded locally to your computer. Is there any way?

You should just be able to pull them from /data/app Zeb

Alternative app stores may off this functionality, as far as I'm aware, AM doesn't. The only thing I'd suggest is make a CWM backup, download the app, pull from /data/app, and then restore your CWM backup. This way, as far as your device is concerned (AM will know otherwise), installation "never happened". Zeb

Its like.......users not allowed to download setup exe of softwares, but only option is automated secret & silent install directly to their computers. Imagine how frustrating a world that would be. I guess it would be because there's no need. I'm willing to wager 99% of people who download an app are wanting to install it straight away and forget about it. I don't really understand why you'd want to download an app and not install it? Zeb

The logic in this is that paid for apps are sync'd to your account and not your device so that you can change devices without losing your apps.
