Firefox on the Vega?

Anyone have any experience of using the Firefox browser on the Vega?

I note that in other threads people recommend Dolphin, Miren, etc, but what are the key advantages over Firefox?

Having been used to using Firefox, both at work and at home, and knowing how to configure it to my needs, I am reluctant to use yet another browser, unless there are clear advantages.

I can't talk about advantages as I didn't leave Firefox on my Vega long enough. Noticeably slower than Miren, my then and still current browser, bloated at over 16mb with a couple of plugins and buggy. Several common pages I use just wouldn't render properly and crashed several times. The configuration is completely different to the desktop version so will likely not meet your needs. YMMV.

So anti-question I guess, but I couldn't recommend Firefox.

I've never tried Firefox on Android to be honest as I've been told it's very slow. At the moment I'm using Dolphin Browser HD however Miren Browser which Simonta said above is also a very good Browser.

Firefox for Android is still new, so we'll see what happens what it starts to mature, but for now there are many better browsers out there that you can use

Hope this helps :o

Its big and slow, has some good features but not enough to reccomend it over miren or opera. Of those two I prefer Opera at the moment I've used it for a long time on my phone and my PC and it can share bookmarks between android and PC using an Opera link account. The PC version of opera is actually better than firefox most firefox features were lifted straight out of opera and its actually a full email and torrent client as well so its very useful I still use FF occasionally but its not my main browser on any device.

I use Firefox 3.6 on both Ubuntu and Windows XP and its a super browser in both environments, however Firefox is too slow and bloated on a phone/tablet.

I am currently using Opera on Vega and Nokia phone, nice clean touch friendly interface and very quick.

I was using Miren on the Vega and have not un-installed it just yet but I think Opera will become my browser of choice.

I've toyed around with various browsers since getting my Vega. Tried FF, Opera, Skyfire and Miren. FF is my PC browser of choice.

Have now decided that Miren is the one for me as it does everything I need and is fast enough too.

Miren on the tablet BTW.

I'm using Firefox4 in all my devices, with success. It's not the fastest of the pack, but for someone who has a desktop PC, a netbook, a smartphone and a tablet, the whole integration is worthwhile. I don't understand why the standard browser doesn't do the same with Chrome, actually.

You can import and export bookmarks between FF and Opera on the PC and both have link services(Opera had it first surprise surprise) so you can use FF on the PC but still use opera link.
