This is the only shop that ships to Lithuania and that's way too expensive for a phone that is made by Chinese with no spare parts to buy

I got the white one from Amazon for £97 which included £10 top up, which I never used. So £23 increase is not too good. BUT C3P001 is right, its worth £123 even for a Chinese phone with no spart parts.

Put a little more menay and you would have a HTC Desire, which is WAYYYY better

DUDE I got mine for like 150 pounds from ebay

It included 16g sd card .. but still expensive

its about the price you need to pay if you live overseas.

I got mine expensive because it was still worth paying that much.

It's still the best spec, best value cheap new Android.

If you want a higher spec and new phone then you need to pay a lot more to get something like a Motorola Defy.

Yeah I would probably have paid 150 pounds for it and been happy. lucky for me i got it at just under 100 pounds *bargain* I see Argos still have it at 110 pounds with 10 pounds free airtime not much use if you live outside europe maybe but still the full 110 pounds price plus postage cost to Europe which i would imagine would be less than 10 pounds so all in 120 quid cant go wrong ...Of course it helps if you know someone in the UK and also if or i should say IF Argos has any stock.

*Edit It seems i read it wrong the actual price would be 129:99 plus whatever it costs for someone to send it to Europe still not bad in my opinion

I am thinking of waiting for ZTE Skate. Is it worth it and what's it's estimate price? If it isn't I'll wait for a few weeks and see if the price gets lower (125 pounds is a lot in our country. It's a more than a half of a minimum monthly salary)

Personaly i dont think the Skate is anything to get too excited over there is not a huge difference as for price who knows my guess would be around 170 pounds perhaps

Where do you think the rest of the phones are made exactly? lol

Maybe they put the price up ready for the Skate launch... so the Skate DOESNT LOOK TO EXPENSIVE. then also if they have the higher price for 30 days then lower the price they can call it a discount/sale.

funnier things have happened.

Also could have something to do with the Japanese earthquake some components may have been sourced from there.

This HAS to be the dictionary definition of "troll".

To be fair to him I bought mine for £79 and I thought that was a decent deal. To start charging £129 now that the community has embraced the phone is a bad sign of things to come. Rather than ZTE continuing to excel in the value end of the market they will now produce the same value handset but expect a mid-range price for it and alienate their customer base.

I don't think it is more expensive though? A more accurate statement is that it's more expensive at the only shop that will ship abroad - and frankly... they don't have any stock anyway.

Orange will now sell it to existing customers for £75 including the credit when it was 79 + £10 credit when I got it. Whereas for non customers it's the same £100+credit it has always been.

Other shops are free to charge what they like. ADVERTISING SPAM and tesco sell it for a discounted £100 inc credit. Play sell it for £150. That's the nature of a free market!

[edit]

And the forum censor somewhat ruined this post. :mellow:

Hi All,

Yes, the SanFrans are going up in price... and have been over the last few weeks. Depending on which store/shop this can vary...

Carphone Warehouse = £120 + £10 topup

Orange = £99 + £10 topup

Argos = £109 + £10 topup

Tescos = £99?? (not sure...)

When just to think, a few weeks ago, they were all (with exception of Carphone Warehouse, which has always been expensive) about £80.

What annoyed me, Argos had them listed for like £80 for about a month, but never ever got them back in stock. Then all of a sudden, they put their prices up, and they become in stock again.... :o Hmmm.... :D

And remember guys, if ya work in a school/education, and I believe health services, you can get £20 off price. Thats what I did for my dad, and he is well happy with his phone... :mellow:

Cheers, Lister

Yeah but oranges prices haven't gone up (in fact to existing payg customers - it's gone down) and as it's their branded phone they are effectively the 'rrp'. If retail shops choose to charge more I'm not sure you can go blaming ZTE! Or even Orange. I'm guessing it's perhaps supply/demand as none of the shops seem to have stock.

Got my second Blade with Tesco vouchers from one of their phone shops. £60 clubcard vouchers became one £119.95 (including £10 top up) Blade. Sweet.

Hi All,

Yeah further to be previous post (couple up from here) I did OK, as I kinda got a deal from Carphone Warehouse, even if the guy who served me was a n*b... as I read on a forum, maybe even this one?? that CW price match....

So I approached them, as Argos was out of stock... and said about the phone, could they match Argos price (as CW wanted £120 + £10) so he said yes.... then after a little while, he said it has to be current/valid offer. So I showed him the page I printed from Argos website same day I visited CW, it had the date on the page. Yet he said that wasnt valid, and had to get a catalogue with it in... this was close to the stores closing time, wasnt happy about it... but off I marched.... managed to pursade Argos to open doors jus to let me have a catalogue. Get back to CW and they tell me, no... we cant price match, dont know who told you that. I said I wasnt happy being told I could, and that I had to much half way up town to get a catalogue to prove it when I already had a webpage that was dated... and so they honoured and agreed :mellow: for £89

Then popped into Orange to get my dad the phone, and they had it on offer for £95, but as someone kindly in here said if I take a payslip from my work (I work in schools) they will honour that.... and so picked dads one up for £75, for which he was well happy... as he has never had a phone like this... previous were old style Nokia. Still teaching him how to use it, which is cool....

But yeah, glad to have found this site... good friendly advice, very much valued... thank you...

Lister
