I just cleaned my screen for a second time and when I assembled the phone back the touchscreen won't work anymore?

What to do?

I mean I took the phone apart and cleaned the screen from the inside because it gains lots of dust in a short time

Check all the connections again - make sure they are in firmly and the screen works before completely really assembling.

well the obvious thing to do, would be to take it apart again. and make sure you put it back okay.

and the other (even more obvious) solution, could be to just reboot  this does sumtimes work on touchscreen issues. tho doubt it for a completely broken sreen.

Yes, try just plugging in the screen parts in and try before you put it all back together.

Whn you your screen doesn't work do you mean it doesn't display anything or that it is unresponsive?

I have tried to re-assemble it but still can't get it work. I have wiped data and rebooted and everything.

The screen shows everything but touching doesn't work

Try the stock ROM.

If that doesnt work chances are its your digitizer... (hardware)

There is a thread about replacing the digitizer - this is the part that needs replacing.

Its available for around £25 i think.

Hi,

Just come across this post because I have encountered exactly the same thing with my handset.

Took apart VERY carefully. Undid all the hinges holding the ribbon cables. Gave it a blow to get rid of the dust. Put back together and touchscreen isn't working.

Im as sure as I can be that I haven't bent, twisted or snagged anything. No amount of wiggling will get this digitiser to pick up touch inputs.

And restoring backed up ROM hasn't helped either. Must be hardware related but I can't see whats gone wrong.

Wish I'd left it dusty!

The ebay seller that sells new front panels (including digitizer) for £30 is what I have used before.

Thanks for your help guys but I think I'll try to sell the phone (what is left of it) on eBay or something.

I already ordered a Motorola Atrix 4G phone which will be a pretty nice upgrade from ZTE Blade with it's dual-core processor and all.

Although I've seen some complaints about it and MotoBlur so haters be quiet I trust we'll see some ROMs in the future without MotoBlur.

So I'll be leaving this forum for now at least! Bye!
