Got a couple of Qs that i hope someone can answer for me.

When I updated to GEN 2, i initially installed CM7. After realising it was too buggy for me i switched to LanceH's modified Phat SS release. I couldn't connect to a network so decided to try the original and installed SSR5.

All is working fine mostly but i fear that coming from CM7 may have caused me some problems. For instance, there is quite a delay when booting the phone to finding my network which is O2. Sometimes i need to select it from this list of networks.

Also i seem to have problems with using the phone while plugged into the charger, something which i had problems with CM7 with. The phone first tells me the SD card is missing then after going through menus etc. it shuts down and restarts.

Has anyone had this problem? Could this be solved with formatting the system, data, cache and factory reset and starting fresh? Or could this be a GEN2 problem? Is it possible to a full wipe to rid my phone of potential left over CM files?

I appreciate any answers. Thanks.

First of all as long as you wiped nothing you did in any previous rom would have made a difference. I have problems connecting to o2 on any rom and i have excellent o2 signal in my house so why it has issues i have no clue.

The sd card problem could mean a potential issue with ur SD card have you tried a different one.

formatting the system, data, cache files is refered too as a full wipe and would have removed the cm7 files.

If my phone gets hot I get a fake "SD Card removed" - usually this happens while charging and using GPS.

To prove that overheating is the cause I suggest you charge with the battery case removed and a desk-fan blowing on the back of your phone.

if you can never re-produce the "SD Card Removed" problem in this manner, but you can re-produce it with the battery case installed and no-fan, then I think you will have confirmed this as the cause of your problem.

Thanks for your reply. First time for me that i have had problems with it connecting to O2. I was previously on the Modaco Froyo Rom and didn't have any. Obviously this was GEN1 hence my question. I will try the original SD card and see if i get the same problem. Does "wipe data/factory reset" include the /system files? Again thanks for you time.

This is very interesting and something i will try if it turns out that it is not my SD card. It's funny you mention the GPS as while using the Nav today i got occasional SD removal errors, not good! Thanks very much for your reply.
