Guest galorin Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 I am running Swedish Spring RLS5 on Orange, running in GSM mode only. Not in a good area for 3G connrctivity. After I flashed this one, I started getting notifications and noise every time I switched from Orange to T-Mobile signal. It's really annoying, interrupts my music, and sometimes happens while phone is sitting on my desk, not moving. How can I stop these notifications?

I dont think you can disable it, then again no one expected you to be switching networks constantly, i suggest you switch your sim altogether to T-Mobile

Guest ColdEmbrace Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Can I do that, as I am on contract w/ Orange? Probably not and it wouldn't help now that they share network.
Guest Kerberos84 Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Can't you go to settings => Wireless and network => mobile networks =>GSM/UMTS settings =>Mobile providers and select Orange, not automatic? (it can be that my steps are incorrect, I'm on a dutch blade, not an english one...)
Guest KACE_231 Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Have you gone to settings => Wireless and network => mobile networks => select 2G only Your issue is that 3G signal is very poor but 2G you get a signal just about, so in most occasions the signal switches between orange and T-Mobile, right? The fact that is switches constantly suggests to me that T-Mobile signal is quite strong in that area, therefore you ought to switch to T-Mobile altogether as a carrier.
