Guest finbaar Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Good grief there are people selling them for £150 on Ebay. And what about the cheek of this guy: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ORANGE-SAN-FRANCISCO...4#ht_3487wt_905 Do you reckon it is all his own work or is he perhaps trying to profit from the modders from her?

Judging by his images, he's charging £13.99 to flash on CM7, or maybe FLB or Swedish Spring (these are the only current, good Froyos im aware of). It seems he also can add you a Gingerbread Circlemod theme...which afaik are made only by Frankish or me :o (apologies if I missed anyone, not deliberate  ..hmm. Guest C3P001 Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Does not surprise me , I have seen on some Swedish sites charging about 10 pounds to unlock the zte blade
Guest TCTUK Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Seems reasonable to charge that. Plenty of people just don't feel confident enough to muck about with firmware.
Guest targetbsp Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 That's not a bad price if you remember it includes special delivery back to you. All this flashing is fairly easy for us but some people before have posted on here asking for this very service - someone local to them that might to the job for them.
Guest Jekle Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 When the manufacturers lower the price of the Phone it properly means there using refurbished parts, The components don't get cheaper it's because they have so many borked phones they just clean the part up a bit and sell it , That's how they lower the price.

Then they'd sell them as refurbished... not new. They can't sell them as new if they're not. Orange have a huge refurbished selection. Every phone I've ever owned (prior to this one) has been an Orange refurb. Edited May 5, 2011 by targetbsp
Guest iNoobz2Droid Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 wow thats a nice deal i paid around 50% more on ebay because neither orange nor amazon.uk ship to germany
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 I know... but there is still the number 69!! ** insert a faceplant emoticon here **
Guest ezablade Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 OK..ordered one... now got the "we need more info from you" email... they never make it easy

Do you realise exactly how easy it is to unlock a Blade ? charging 10 pounds for something that you can do for free and in about 30 seconds is taking the wee wee in my opinion

Components do get cheaper and they also want to sell more of the product as sales have probably slowed recently. A lower price point gets peoples attention and people buying. With dual-core phones being released they can't still sell it for £100+ as phones such as the HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S will be getting cheaper. Edited May 5, 2011 by calza
Guest happyandroid Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Also Orange are NOT the manufacturer. And we all believe that a new ZTE phone is coming soon. The Skate.
Guest Spies Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 This is a billy bargain if ever I did see one!

If you read what said they use refurbished components like the mainboard not the front fasica it may appear new in appearance, I have too much experience with this sort of thing buying reduced and half price things, bought a laptop about 4 years ago, 1 year down the line wouldn't get past the bios screen kept getting fixed disk 0 buy asking a friend who actually Works for a Motherboard manufactuer he could tell by entering a few numbers in a diagnosed it as a refurbished motherboard. Many company’s cut corners to increase profit and ZTE have alot of refurbished phones Edited May 5, 2011 by Jekle
