Battery life?

Hi guys, my missus recently got the 2x, and its great apart from the battery life she cant even get 12 hours out of it. Its still on the stock rom but I have rooted it. She doesn't use it heavily she doesn't have time with 2 small children at home. She takes the phone off charge in the morning and before she goes to bed at night the phones already died because of lack of power.

I did put on things like juice defender, limited the screen brightness and such for her to see if that helped but its the same problem. Is this normal for these phones, would she get better life if I put on a custom rom for her?

I did a test on the ModaCo Fr12 ROM, I left the phone more or less on standby (maybe 30mins calls, 2 hours browsing and some texting) and did get 7 days out of it. On normal use I have 2-3 days. So I would say that maybe you have a faulty battery, best would be in my opinion to replace the battery...

try to disable background data and location detection.

then, stay on 2G mode and see.

if data is not needed, disable mobile data, only enable once you need.

you'll have great battery life.

but after all, you may think..

using O2x is for ur own enjoyment or to have an extented battery life?

go to ebay, search for some more batteries would solve all ur problem.

They are cheap to buy.

The phones only a few days old so id just ask the t mobile to replace the battery. Getting 7 days out of the battery sounds like a major jump from what we are seeing on it. I have heard people talking about the stock roms just churning the battery so was curious to know if there was a comparison between the stock battery usage and the custom rom.

I just wanted to make sure that if I asked for a replacement model its because its a battery fault not a rom issue

The stock ROM is full of battery sapping shite, try one of the MoDaCo ones at the top of the forum. Or CM7 nightly if you don't mind a few bugs.

cool I will give that a go then before I ask them to replace it  Because the missus want things to work well I think I will leave CM7 for now, could do without the ear ache :o.

I will grab cook a MCR rom them and flash it thanks for the advice.
