Hi all,

With flash 10.2 i am finally able to select 720p/1080p when i watch youtube videos on the website (not with the app). However, all 720p videos stutter so bad that they are non-watchable. Is this normal? I am running the non-overclocked corvus5 rom. Furthermore, is there any chance of a youtube app which plays HD (not HQ, that's 480p) in the near future? I was wondering whether the xoom has a youtube HD app?

Check your Flash app version number in manage apps and ensure it is v10.2.155.67 which is the version optimised for the Tegra. If not go here and save this link as a bookmark for future reference then go to the section titled 'GLES Optimized Flash for Advent Vega' and download and install it from there not the market. Clear cache. Then try again.

If you enter 'Youtube hd sample' into Google you will find a sample video of Terminator 2 in 720p HD which plays fine on my Vega and I'm still using v10.1 of Flash so if yours still stutters try downloading v10.1. 120.1 from the same place and try again. If it still goes wrong it sounds like you have a poor network connection and would need to be investigated from that angle.

Let us know how you get on?

Did that for version 10.2, the Terminator 2 video played at about 1 frame every 5 seconds and then completely locked the tablet; had to re-boot. Video played fine on the computer over wifi so it wasn't the network. Bit of a pain in the arse, but not that important.

Not sure really ...... I understand it is optimised for the Tegra processor hardware but as to the OS compatibility it'll have to be trial and error I think :o

Strange. What kernel/rom are you running then?

I'm using the r8 rom with, I assume, stock kernel.

Might be worth you trying it with the optimized v10.1 Flash I described earlier then see if that helps.

Thanks, if I get the time I'll give it a try.
