Hi all, i have a ZTE blade which i have rooted and flashed CM 7.0 successfully without upgrading the radio to GEN2. I've done this and much more without problems, however today for some reason the phone isnt even powering on. The only thing i did before was installing theft aware 2.0. Note that i dont have a SIM card inserted so it's unlikely that someone have sent a command that turned the phone into a... vegetable.

I tried removing the battery and trying to turn it on, nothing. I tried connecting it to the USB power charger without a battery, still nothing. This phone is supposed to be a birthday gift for my friends 30th birthday, so i'd really appriciate help getting it back to life.

I've tried the following: with ADB devices the phone dosen't show up.

Trying entering field test mode with VOLUME DOWN + POWER key does not do anything. same result with VOLUME UP + POWER.

Tried different USB cords without success.

Thanks in advance

I just tried that, put Japanese Jellyfish on the sdcard, put it into the bricked phone and tried starting it with MENU + VOL UP + POWER. nothing.

Shouldn't at least the home/menu/back buttons LED flash during a TPT transfer?

Jap Jelly isn't gen 2 compatible and there is not a TPT image of this.. I'm guessing your just trying to put a normal rom there which is not going to work.

Try the following instructions.

"Instructions in very basic steps for you.

Make sure battery has enough power to complete process.. Over 20 percent to be safe.

Download this zip file Here

Extract this file on your computer and you will see that it creates an "image" folder with about 17 files inside.

Copy this folder to the root of your sd card (so on the very beginning of the SD card you have the image folder with the files inside.)

Power off the phone and unplug from usb or charger.

Hold down "menu" button and "volume up" together and while holding them then hold the power button also.

A lot of text should now start on your screen and you can leave go of the buttons at this point.

Wait until rom comes on.

Job done. "

If this does not work come back and post.

Thank you, i'll try to borrow my GFs bladeand see how it reacts to the phones battery and vice versa (the bricked phone dosen't give an indicator when its being charged) and then i'll try the TPT method. just a quick question, i tried getting into fastboot in the blade (vol up + power) and i tried earlier iniating this TPT transfer (menu+vol up + power) but the screen didn't turn on in either cases. Is this normal?

The thing is you mention Jap Jelly in your post earlier when talking about the TPT method which to my knowledge there is not a TPT of Jap Jelly.

And yes, the screen should do something, even if it's just light up slightly. If it's staying completely off and you have no vibration of lights coming on at all then it does sound more like a power problem. Have you tried powering it up with the battery removed and just plugged into the mains ? do you get anything at all ?

Cheers Pelemane. I've looked at them files many a time and never realized the image.zip was the TPT.

My bad sorry.

Indeed, i tried plugging it in with the USB chord and the charger cord, with and without the battery. So yes, it seems that its a hardware problem... But at the same time unlikely - at least it never happened to me before. And i tried for ways to enter fastbood so i could do something with ADB, but no luck.
