Guest John949 Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 My micrpophone is U/S and I'm having trouble getting it repaired under warranty. I was dumb enough to buy it off ADVERTISING SPAM and they are refusing to replace it (< 2 months old). All they will do is send if off to someone else. Having read their reviews (why didn't I do this before I bought it?), I think there is a good chance I'll never see my phone again. ADVERTISING SPAM suggested I take it to Carphone Warehouse, so I rung them up. On the phone they said they would do it, but when I tried to take it to a shop they couldn't find a code for a Blade / OSF on their computer booking system (they don't sell it) so they just looked at me blankly and said they couldn't do it. After an abortive phone call to Orange and a discussion about 'own branding' and how this makes them responsible for the product, they put me on to Regenersis. I contacted them and sure enough they say they do do warranty repairs, but they advised me to read their terms & conditions, which I did. They want £17 up front just to send them the phone and (possibly) send it back. It says that if they deem he phone unecconomic to repair then you can either pay them another £15 to get it back or they will 'recycle' it for you for free! Call me a cynic but this looks like an almighty scam. Given the wholesale unit cost of blade then you could reasonably claim that anything more than changing the battery is 'unecconomic' and I'll either end paying £17 and giving them my phone or paying them £29 to do nothing. So has anyone risked it? Any other suggestions as to how to get it repaired / replaced under warranty? I've written a complaint to Orange but no response yet.

Guest Kaerly Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 I believe Argos use them for warranty repairs. My OSF developed a power button fault over 5 month of use (power button worked in 50% cases). I've taken in back to where I bought it (Argos) and they sent it to Regenesis. I thought they will just solder a new button on or in the worst case change a whole PCB. Two weeks later Regenesis decided they couldn't do it and now I got a brand new phone from Argos . Looks like they don't want to be involved when ZTE could be blamed for the fault.
Guest John949 Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 After a couple of emails to Orange I've managed to persuade them to replace it. They still deny they are the manufacturer but they are sending a courier to collect my old one and give me a new one, so well done them. I have to keep my old battery and back cover! Not sure why my post got moderated to remove the name of the jokers I bought the phone from but changed CPW to a hyperlink.
