Guest isitafox Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 As the title says, I know a streak running standard software can only have the screen locked in landscape but is there a way to lock it in portrait when rooted? If so has anyone done this or made a mod to do it??
Guest Edrill Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 The closest I've got is by using ADW Launcher. No other way I know of that locks the screen in portrait mode.

Guest friscolocks Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 Stock 351, rooted, using ADW EX. Locking in portrait or landscape it locks in landscape w/top to the left. only selecting automatic will allow portrait, and only when held in portrait.

Only the lockscreen will be ever shown in landscape. Chose portrait for the homescreen orientation in adw settings, than tap in adw General Behavior --> System Preferences --> System Persistence. This is important and the homescreen will be locked in portrait
Guest TimoBeil Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 Attention! In the newest adwEX - update the Persistence-Option is removed. After updating it is no longer possible to lock the homescreen to portrait mode. Backup of older adwEX version seems required.
Guest Adam Mallinson Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 When running GO Launcher Ex the screen seems to get stuck in Portrait for me regardless of what orientation i am

I have to switch off until it's fixed.
Guest luckyauto Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 for lockscreen portrait use widgetlocker hi , except widgetlocker , any other similar apps , we can fit the lockscreen in potrait mode BUT..... note : i did try the widgetlocker , it did not come with securities lock on the phone. mean when you unlock your phone with pattern pin , u mean to do two step step 1 - unlock the widget locker step 2 - unlock the stock securities lock which is annoying and trouble...
Guest Roperband Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Btw, Open Home also locks the Streak in portrait mode.

On ADWex please check in: ADW Settings | UI Settings | Screen Preferenced | Home Orientation I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Yes, home can be locked to portrait.

Yes, and as I said in the post you quoted, the launcher resets quite frequently causing all the Widgets to reload.
