This is simply a poll to enable those who can't choose, to use the most popular. Also it shows you which is the most popular.

Feel free the reply with a recommendation, especially if it's not on the list.

Let's get voting... At the moment Playerpro beats the rest with 100% of the votes! It's an amazing music player with many, MANY features. I highly recommend it.

A 50% reduction in votes has just occurred...

While we're at this, does anyone know of a player that can play shoutcast streams?

I know winamp can, but you can only choose from listed shoutcast servers. I run my own shoutcast server, and I can't get winamp on android to even think about connecting to it. I wish it just had an "open location" prompt, similar to on windows.

Poweramp, simply the best there is. Awesome player and I can customize the sound to my exact need- Fully recommended for any audiophile! Worth every cent you'll have to pay.

Hi all,

I'm using the new stock player 3.0, it is designed for tablets but works a treat on the SF similar options to ordinary stock player but sounds soooo much better.

All the best

Rockbox (gui has a few glitches but who cares - the sound quality and volume is greater than all the others which are all basically a trivial gui for ffmpeg).

PlayerPro or PowerAMP for sure. Both are at par feature wise, but I like the modular approach of PlayerPro and prefer its looks over PowerAMP's. So, it's PlayerPro for me.

Not used any much as battery life is short enough without my using it as mp3 player, but played with Songbird a little

I'm using one called songbird, nice and simple with a slick interface IMO.

In terms of widgets: what does everyone like?

For example the stock player has some rather (depending on your home screen style, ofc) "ugly" widgets; they do not really work with my attempt of a more minimalist home screen.

Have to say PowerAMP for the simple reason that it has a "preamp", meaning you can boost or lower the volume of the music (this is separate from the media volume setting). My Blade is too loud when playing out of the speaker, even on minimum media volume, so I have the preamp lowered to quiet it down. And with headphone output, it's too quiet! So I jack up the preamp and the media volume. And it has automatic settings so the separate preamp settings will automatically take effect when playing out of either the headphones or speaker.

If the Blade didn't have such bad volume controls, then I'd go with Winamp. It's good and free. My trial is over for PowerAMP so debating whether to buy it or not..

Just for everyone to know, PlayerPro has a DSP Pack, that comes with a full fledged equalizer consisting of a Preamp, Bass Boost dial, and all other freq settings. Pretty darn awesome.

MusicMOD had some widgets, and I especially liked the 4x2 one. It looked pretty neat.

Didn't try PowerAmp for quiet some time, so can't comment on that.

PlayerPro offers 5 widgets of different dimensions. All are very nice.
