Help with G2X gingerbread

I am a serious NEWB, I bought the G2X a few days ago and I was not happy at all, I was a Evo user and LOVED it! I have returnrd phone once due to the fact it keeps rebooting! It still reboots with new one, I did some research and found a program call LAUNCH PRO, I fell in love with phone once that was up and running! Now I hear there is a new thing called GINGERBREAD which will make this phone even better. I have asked other places but I keep being told to find it myself it is very easy! I have even tried YouTube which for me is the best way cause I can watch someone do it. So if anyon out there has the time to show me where to go, what to download and how to install it that would be great!
