Remove App from Rom

I'd like to remove some Apps from a Rom,

is that possible? Those Apps that came with the Rom don't show up in Applications.

Do I have to delete them before flashing? And if yes, how?

Delete them form the zip before flashing the rom or uninstall the apps after flashing the rom using titanium backup.

usually the apps that you can delete are in the /system/app directory, dont go about deleting too much some are vital for phone function.
